Administrator Academy #3718

AA3718 SlideParticipants will receive information about data analysis best practices, continuous improvement frameworks, and district, school, and student level achievement data (e.g., Illinois Assessment of Readiness results, PARCC results, and Illinois School Report Cart comparisons). Participants will develop and plan for continuous improvement using comprehensive data prepared during the academy. Participants will need to bring a fully charged laptop with Microsoft Excel installed to use the four Excel files that will be used during the academy. Three of the files provide opportunities for participants to analyze district, school, and grade level data from the Illinois School Report. Participants will also need to bring their user name and password for accessing PARCC and IAR data from IWAS so that they can download their data and enter it into a fourth Excel file which gives them an opportunity to analyze student performance at the district, school, cohort, and student levels.

Here are the district’s/host’s responsibilities:

  • The district/host would secure the meeting location.
  • The district/host will arrange for and pay for the lunch based on the number of attendees.
  • I will work with you and the attendees on any pre-session communications and all communications such as Google Docs, forms, etc.
  • I will start and share a Google Survey that is used for participants to register for the event. The corresponding Google Sheet will be shared with IASA.
  • I will manage Google Surveys and corresponding Google Sheets for the evaluations and application and dissemination submissions. The corresponding Google Sheets will be shared with IASA as evidence that the participants submitted the required evaluations and application and dissemination.

Participant’s responsibilities:

  • Participants will need to bring a fully charged laptop with Microsoft Excel installed to use the four Excel files that will be used during the academy. Due to the programming within the files, this will not work with Google Sheets or a Chromebook. Three of the files provide opportunities for participants to analyze district, school, and grade level data from the Illinois School Report.
  • Participants will also need to bring their user name and password for accessing PARCC and IAR data from IWAS so that they can download their data and enter it into a fourth Excel file which gives them an opportunity to analyze student performance at the district, school, cohort, and student levels.

IASA’s responsibilities:

  • IASA will send the contract to the school district/host and a copy to the presenter based on agreed upon terms.
  • IASA will bill the district and receive its payment. IASA will pay the presenter the stipend plus all travel expenses.
  • IASA will register the academy in IAAMS; provide the presenter with Sign-In Sheet, roster, evaluation form, etc.; then enter the AA credits after the presenter sends IASA the completed 'paperwork' (sign-in sheet, access to or PDFs of Application/Dissemination and Evaluations). Also, IASA will archive the project for the requisite 7 years in case of audit.

The cost to the school district would be $3,000 for up to 15 attendees (the typical $200 per participant but with a guaranteed amount of $3,000 even if under 15 participants) and $50 for each additional participant beyond 15, plus the presenter’s actual expenses which will include mileage and, if the location is more than two hours from the presenter’s home, one night at a hotel near the meeting location. If the session is held in Oak Forest, that is only about 40 miles from my home so it will be limited mileage expense and no hotel expense.

The district/host will pay the fees ($3,000 for up to 15 attendees plus $50 for each additional participant and the presenter’s expenses) directly to IASA. IASA will then pay the presenter’s stipend and any related expenses.

Please let me know if you would like to proceed.
